Driftwood Gallery hosts an opening evening with music by Neil Halstead and Tom Mounsey, on 30th July from 6pm until 9pm.

Cornwalls finest gallery opens its doors in July, with work from a range of artists including John Severson, Harry Daily, Wolfgang Bloch, Patrick Trefz, Robert Reader, Thomas Campbell, Tony Curtis, Diggy Smerdon, Bryn Hall, George Greenough, Albe Falzon and others.

The gallery will be donating a piece in a raffle on the night, in aid of Surfers Against Sewage. This is an event at the Newquay Gallery, 2 Central Square, to create interest and awareness of surf art and creativity in Newquay and the local area. The gallery will be showcasing some local talents amongst the bigger names, and encourages anyone interested in the creative side of surfing to attend. Books and clothing will also be on show.

The show will run from 30th July until 8th August.

Diggy invites you to Avalaan

Diggy is Avalaan’s latest edition to the art familia. This year Diggy has been working with Avalaan, bringing her unique style to the design and production, and creating some wicked new t shirts.

Her work will be featured in the next streetwear range including some of their latest tees. You can see her work in the flesh at her solo exhibition In May, at the Avalaan flagship store…

Diggy Smerdon – an unusual name for an unusual girl.

In her own words: “With a dirty graphic blend and expressive raw lines, illustrator Diggy Smerdon brings to life the themed characters and creations of dream and sub-conscious. With this distinct style, she explores unconventional subject matters with weird but wonderful forms. Her quirky creations, unique faces and obsession with hands adds a mystery to her work. She conveys the idea of identity and the elements that form identity – including our sub-conscious, instinct and our soul – through her work.”
