The Sports Council withdrew grant to surfing several years ago and since then the sport has not received any Government or lottery funding.
The situation means the Uk's top surfers, including former World Championship Tour rider Russell Winter, rely on sponsorship to compete overseas.
English champion Alan Stokes, four-times British number one Lee Bartlett and UK legend Jed Stone are supporting calls by the English Surfing Federation to make surfing a sporting priority.
Rip Curl Grom Search winner Tom Good and ESF head coach Rob Barber are also involved in the awareness campaign.
