News Reid return

Welsh international returns after injury by George Mojo

18/01/2006:// Welsh international Nick Reid is aiming to return to competition in time for the British Professional Surf Association season after suffering an horrific surfing injury four months ago.

Reid received multiple fractures to his leg and ankle whilst practising radical aerial manoeuvres at Three Peaks on the Gower, as part of his build up to the European championships.

Doctors this week removed the plaster and discovered much of his ankel movement has been retained.

After physiotherapy, Reid is pinning his sights on getting back into the waves early next month and be back to full contest fitness in June.

"I intend joining up with some of my best surfing buddies in Europe as soon as I'm allowed to discard the crutches," said Reid.
