News Wildcoast to appear on KSWB

Serge Dedina will appear on KSWB 5 "Take Five" by Serge Dedina

12/04/2006:// Serge Dedina, Executive Director of WiLDCOAST, will discuss how to solve the the Tijuana River pollution crisis that has closed Imperial Beach and Coronado beaches on the "Take 5" public affairs program on KSWB 5 (Channel 69) this Sunday, March 26th at 10:30 pm. Dedina will call for a the implementation of a Comprehensive Community Clean Water Action Plan that will be “wiser” and more efficient use of U.S. Taxpayer funds than the $600 million dollars being proposed for the Bajagua sewage treatment project that will have not reduce beach closures at all.

Border beaches are among the most polluted in North America and the south end of Imperial Beach has been closed almost non-stop since the end of December. WiLDCOAST recently discovered the City of Tijuana is dumping sewage in the river during the evening to avoid detection, a problem that has been ignored by the International Boundary and Water Commission (IBWC), an agency referred to Dedina on the program as “one of the most corrupt and incompenent agencies in the federal government. An agency that makes FEMA look like management experts.”
