Champion signs with Surfboard Tracker

23/05/2006:// Welsh longboard guru Elliot Dudley has become the first sponsored rider for cutting edge board security company Surfboard-Tracker.com.
The company, recently launched by Andrew Smith, supplies a small scale chip to surfboard manufacturers and dealers for factory or retro fitting.
"We want to draw a line in the sand" said Smith, who recently was victim to this kind of theft when in France. "The system is so simple and cost effective that we hope to involve all the manufacturers on a global scale."
The database of surfboard ownership is then maintained and accessible by all UK police forces and overseas agencies, making stolen goods easily identifiable.
The system is so simple and cheap that there has been an enormous level of interest, in a relatively short space of time. The average cost of the chip is around £10.
Dudley, of Newport, South Wales, was so impressed by the concept of tracking ownership he instantly became involved. He has arranged a contract before flying out to compete in the Rabbit Kekai Longboard Classic in Boca Barranca, Costa Rica on the 15th June.
The dates have been set for the end-of-season British Longboard Union Series Final in Cornwall
