News John from Cincinnati

HBO series kicks off June 10th by Howard Swanwick

06/06/2007:// John Milch fans will be pleased to see the series premiere of John from Cincinnati on Sunday night.

Milch, with some help from Kem Nunn, author of Cali surf noir, have brought together a cast including Rebecca De Mornay and Ed O'Neil.

The Story:

John Monad is a mysterious young man who travels to Imperial Beach, California to take lessons from a surfing legend, Mitch Yost.

John seems to have a strange effect on the community around him. Austin Nichols stars as the mysterious John Monad. The story focuses on the Yost family, surfer legend Mitch Yost (Bruce Greenwood), his angry wife Cissy (Rebecca De Mornay), their drug-addicted, ex-champ son Butchie (Brian Van Holt) and Butchie's teenage son, surfer prodigy Shaun (Greyson Fletcher). Ed O'Neill plays Mitch's best friend, Bill, and Matt Winston plays Barry Cunningham, who returns to Imperial Beach after 23 years to seek his revenge on the Yosts.
