News Jesus Surf Classic part two

[Jayce Robinson]

Croyde Bay once again plays host by George Mojo

20/09/2007:// Croyde Bay once again hosts part two of the Jesus Surf Classic, over the weekend of 22nd – 23rd September. This hugely successful event has now been running for fifteen years.

With four divisions completed two weekends ago, the focus is now on the three remaining divisions, Open, Junior ( U18 ) and Masters (Over 35)

With the weather looking good, and a favourable surf prediction it looks like being a great weekend. The last of the ‘Jesus’ series, the Jesus Longboard Classic, will be taking place at Polzeath over the weekend of October 6th and 7th.

This surf contest is organised and run by Christian Surfers UK, and this year there was over £2,000 of prize money on offer, between the 8 categories, with the open surfing winner receiving £250.

The standard of surfing as always will be very high, with travelling Aussie Rhys Olivery winning the event last year, but Joss Ash will be looking to retain his 2005 Open title.

In the Juniors Jayce Robinson will be looking to retain his 2006 title, as will Roger Knight in the Masters Division.

The Jesus Surf Classic has become one of the biggest and longest running surf contests in the UK, and Christian Surfers UK are once looking forward to hosting it at what is one of the best breaks on the North Coast, Croyde Bay.
