Over £7000 raised in green raffle

21/12/2007:// As Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) announce the winners of their 2007 annual raffle, it’s not just the eleven prizewinners that are celebrating because this years raffle helped to raise an awesome £7000 for SAS! And what’s more, as all the prizes in the raffle were ‘green’ the raffle had a limited impact on the environment!
The annual raffle is SAS’s biggest annual fundraiser helping to raise much need funds for their UK based campaign for clean and safe recreational water for everyone.
Top prize in the raffle of £1000 was kindly donated by Low Pressure Stormrider Guides and was won by Philip Bates from Bedford. Other 'green' prizes included a top of the range eco surfboard donated by Joel Blackman Boards, a luxury carbon neutral weekend surf holiday for two in Cornwall donated by Global Boarders and a folding bike from Buy Buy Bicycles.
SAS Fundraiser Siobhan Keyes said "Everyone at Surfers Against Sewage is so grateful to all our members, supporters and supportive businesses that helped to make this years raffle a success, raising such a fantastic amount of money! Every pound raised in the raffle will help us to continue campaigning hard in 2008!"
Alongside the raffle, SAS ran a competition for the person who sold the most raffle tickets. Emily Priestly from GE Money, Truro sold an incredible 165 tickets and won a weekend surf break for two at the Surfs Up Surf Lodge in Polzeath!
