£7373 for Surfers Against Surfers (SAS) through stylish reusable bag
by Richard Hardy
15/01/2008:// Fat Face have raised an awesome £7373 for Surfers Against Surfers (SAS) through sales of a stylish reusable bag, by donating £1 from every bag sold in 23 Fat Face stores throughout the UK and through www.fatface.com.
The Hessian bags went on sale back in July, to help raise money and awareness for SAS and the important work that they do across the UK, campaigning for clean and safe recreational water for everyone.
Will Blair, Fat Face Marketing Manager, explained: "Many of our customers are water users - from surfers to yachtsmen, kayakers to windsurfers so it was great to have the opportunity to promote an organisation they could relate to and are eager to support. We will be sure to be working with Surfers against Sewage again so watch this space."
Siobhan Keyes, SAS fundraiser said, “We would like to say a massive thank you to Fat Face and all it’s customers for helping to raise a truly fantastic amount of money for our campaign. All the money raised will go straight to our campaign for clean and safe recreational water for everyone, helping us to do more beach cleans, more demos, more research and more educating in 2008!
What’s more, the Hessian bags can be used time and time again, reducing the need for plastic bags which are hard to recycle and which can so easily end up in the marine environment”.
